Day One of the “Real” Shelter In Place

I’m not counting the weekend since it didn’t really change anything. Today I would have gone to work, and that matters.

Slept in until 8:30, got up, took a shower, had ham and eggs for breakfast. Made Stacie some eggs too since she was already working from home. Beats getting up at 3:45 and having a gas station breakfast sandwich at my workbench while I work. Not that I’m complaining about KwikTrip’s food. There’s a reason I stop there every morning for a sandwich and drink. But it can’t compare with eating a leisurely, freshly-prepared proper breakfast at my desk.

Got some Devil Monkey business done, rearranged some stuff on the deck so we can sit at the table out there, and had a proper lunch of bratwurst with sauerkraut and jalapenos. Probably have a salad later.

Definitely have a few drinks on the deck once I get more done with the FPS. Sit out there with a margarita and a book, throw some tennis balls for the dog, all that good stuff.

Got everything planned out for Devil Monkey Games’s FPS Alpha Test release. Need to tweak the UI, add some basic functionality to the player and existing AI, add two more AIs, make a half dozen weapons, add a health pack, and screw with the Monkey Temple test terrain. Once all that’s done’ I’ll upload it and let people play with it. After that, I’m going to work on assets all month. Better 3D models, better AI, more levels, all that good stuff.

So far the real changes are I’m eating higher-quality food, and I’m getting more done in general. Funny how that works when everything isn’t being crammed into the day job’s schedule.
