11 February: Shelving
Bars have storerooms, and they need someplace to display their beverages. Et voila! Shelving!
For the storeroom’s bulk storage, we have some metal mesh shelving. The meter-eighty unit has five shelves, each a meter eighty by ninety centimeters. The wooden shelf unit is also a meter eighty tall, but they have smaller shelves. Each of these shelves in ninety centimeters wide and thirty centimeters deep. Perfect for displaying the bar’s finest alcoholic libation.
12 February: Grill
The more “rustic” bars will make do with a campfire, and everybody on Halcyon knows how to roast a diamondtail or thumper with a side of fries. However, places that cater to a more refined crowd know their patients simply will not pay primo dinero for chow some goober roasted on a stick over a fire out back. Such sophisticated clientele requires food prepared in a proper kitchen. So better bars have a grill along these lines. It has four burners, a stainless cooktop, and a flame-broiling station.
13 February: Door
Ye Olde Door to the backroom. It’s pretty much a standard door, thick oak construction, two meters tall, one meter wide, with a steel doorknob.
14 February: Terrorsaur Steak
What do you do with a freshly-killed Terrorsaur? You carve a few chunks off it, throw it on the grill, and feast on that delicious, delicious flesh. With a side of cassava fries and some spicy mayo, it’s magnifique.
15 February: Cassava Fries
The Halcyon cassava is a feat of genetic engineering. Not only does it fill in the nutritional deficiencies of natural cassavas, but it’s disease-resistant and grows almost everywhere. Naturally, it has become a staple on Halcyon.
Sliced cassava rounds fried golden brown and served on a plate with a ramekin of Sir Raja’s Finest Spicy Mayonnaise. Halcyonians prefer their cassava fries round so they can use them like flatbread to scoop up wet food like stew. They also grind them into flour, cut them into cubes for stew, or almost anything you can do with a potato.
16 February: Mystery Meat Sandwich
Cassava sandwich bread and Mystery Meat, all stacked and placed on a plate. It usually takes the form of a patty consisting of multiple kinds of meat from various sources.
Do not ask what kind of animal the meat came from.
17 February: Benches
Benches for overflow and outside seating. These are long enough for three people, four if they’re skinny. The construction is simple, rough wood that the bar owner can slap together out in the yard relatively quickly from ordinary planks. This is intentional – they’re simple because they don’t see much use, are exposed to the elements, and will occasionally be used as weapons by drunk patrons.
